She had a "puppy party"!
Please don't read if you don't like birth stories. I love them, so here is Adelaine's...
Lainey was born at the end of summer. I went to the hospital to be induced a whole two weeks early then from my real due date! Only I knew that. Did you know you can lie to your doctors? I know my body better than any doctors with my pregnancies. 11 at night is when I got the pitocin in my system. Contractions were coming strong a few hours later. They hurt like crazy, I was laying on my side holding Tony's hands the whole time. By about 3, I didn't know if I could do it without the epidural. Nurse checked me and I was a six. 15 minutes after that I was pushing Lainey out! My doctor was still asleep at home, so a resident was there. He didn't want me to push, but that was not going to work. My water broke all over him and I kinda laughed. He was ready to cut me and I was telling him not to. Needless to say I didn't really like him. She came out face up,(which is the wrong way), in just a few minutes and I felt every inch of her 8 lb body! She was a girl! She cried a lot. Tony was the first one to really hold her a long time because they were still working on me. It was the sweetest, she would be wailing her head off then Tones would whisper in her ear and she would quiet right down. When I finally got her against me, I just smelled her the whole time. That's what bonded me to her, her smell. How beautiful she was! Like no baby I had ever seen.
